This past weekend Traction Hobbies & Raceway hosted the 2013 Traction Hobbies Showdown. Nevada’s largest indoor off-road radio controlled raceway. The facility is boasts over a 12,000 square feet of space with a 6800 square foot off-road track. With the “best layout ever” installed for the big annual race, racers from all over the region would converge for some of the areas best racing. The first round of the Mid-West BRCA 4wd regional series took place this past weekend at Telford Model Car Club (Oaklands Raceway). Tom Yardy claimed overall victory ahead of Paul Robinson in second and Andrew Jones in third.
The first round of the HNMC summer series took place this past weekend in which a new race class competed, E-Buggy! It was Karl Jackson who secured TQ in the buggy qualifying with Phil Saggers claiming truggy and Gary Brace the E Buggy. The young Jamie Clancy qualified 3rd with the new RC8.2 EU. Read more...
Racing is great fun, and travelling around the world racing is even more fun. I recommend this to everyone. Just pick a race, and go. Stop with the excuses already! This is why I was really looking forward to finally getting back into racing, after just over 2 months at home, in cold snowy Finland. So the 2013 season is under way and the next stop is the regional event at the up and coming track of Titchfield. The club members with great direction of their committee have been doing some lovely work to the whole track and its surroundings. The mid-south regional series has some extremely competitive and talented drivers. With the great organisation the TORCH crew offer, along with a great track, it should be a awesome event. Shepherd Micro Racing is the latest company to get behind the inaugural Euro Nitro Series, the German chassis manufacturer signing up to become a primary sponsor of the ‘Pilot Series’ and committing to field an international driver line-up at both races. With their headquarters located just 15km from the Hockenhiemring, which will host the first ever ENS event in one months time, it was Shepherd’s annual European Nitro Challenge which lead to the creation of the Euro Nitro Series.
