“The LRP/SMD Truggy drivers Stan Gill & Joe Joyce attended the finals of the popular 8th10 race Series Finals held at Frankley MCC. This series has been very well attended by drivers from all over the Midlands UK with well over 100 entries at all rounds and the final round did not disappoint with 122 booked in. The final round was for double points only if you had already attended the previous 4 rounds, so this made things very close indeed, in both classes any number of drivers could have taken the win with a good result at FMCC. In the Truggy class over 50 drivers entered the series and it all boiled down to the final round with LRP/SMD drivers Joe Joyce & Stan Gill in with a chance. James Bulivant from Derby Model Shop was also in attendance and in with a chance, leading the championship table. Qualifying got under way at 9.00am sharp after the race director decided to add a little change to the track layout! 1 round of timed Practice with 3 rounds of Qualifying and 2 rounds to count would decide the TQ. The track was smooth and the layout was simply awesome and inspiring to say the least! Fast, Flowing, challenging, needing 100% concentration!”

Werks Racing reports – “When it comes to nitro racing Werks Racing is back and back with a bang! At last weekends Wiregrass Indoor Nationals, Werks engines clearly set the benchmark for dominating the field! With in excess of 190 entries for this event it was clearly going to be a tough battle to see who would end up on top. So how did we do you might ask? Clear domination! Doing something that I believe has never been done before we are happy to say that Werks B5 & B6 engines either TQ’d or took 1st place in every single nitro class at the event!!! Yes you read that correctly, Werks engines took TQ or 1st place in every single nitro class at the entire event and we are not only talking about a single Buggy and Truggy class but Pro class, Open class & Sportsman classes of Buggy and Truggy, for a total of 6 different classes!

TQ & 2nd in Pro Buggy

TQ & 2nd in Pro Truggy

1st in Open Truggy

TQ in Open Buggy

TQ & 1st in Sportsman Buggy

1st in Sportsman Truggy

We feel that this shows not only the performance capabilities of our engines but also the flexibility of them! They are not only capable of winning in the hands of the pro driver but also the intermediate level Open Class racer as well as the Sportsman racer! Werks Racing engines, quite simply the best priced and performing engines on the market today period!”

JC reports – “This past weekend the annual Wiregrass Nationals were held in Ozark, Alabama. The temperature was hot but the heavy showers on Friday and Saturday provided some temporary relief from the heat. The metal roof over the track protected the track from the elements, but there was no protecting the surface from the thrashing of the cars and trucks throughout the day. The packed surface quickly gave way to the underlying sandy base providing some true off road racing with major dips, craters, and ruts. Pick your racing line carefully and be prepared to change it as the race progressed! Pro Truggy was TQ’ed by Mike Battaile as the start of the 16 car main began. Second place qualifier Barry Pettit was in hot pursuit from the beginning. The remainder of the 45 minute race was a battle between the two, with Pettit coming out on top at the end, Battaile in second and Sean Kersten in 3rd. Pro Buggy was also TQ’ed by Mike Battaile, followed by Billy Easton and Chris Pace. Battaile and Easton checked out quickly and swapped for the lead for the first few minutes. Barry Pettit, starting in fourth, had two rough first laps battling with the track and was in last place, not far from being lapped by the 2 front-runners.”

Xray reports – “Round 3 of the Malaysia National League was held on July 11, 2010 at RC Connection, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia . There were 3 classes at this event: 8 racers in Truggy Class, 27 racers in Intermediate Buggy Class, and 67 racers in Expert Buggy Class. The race format was three rounds of 7min qualifying for each class. In the final, there was one group for Truggy class, two groups (A-B) of Intermediate Buggy, and six groups of finals (A-F) for Expert Buggy, with 5 drivers bumping up to the final. The weather really unpredictable since the day before the race. Rain fell the night before and a few minutes before the race started in the morning. At this race, I tried to get more laps in qualifying but I could only get 9 laps in the first and third rounds. Most drivers can get 10 laps in a 7min qualifying round. Team XRAY Indonesia attended this event with Edy Susanto, Baron Perkasa, and me. Before the final started, there was big rain and it caused the final to be delayed for 1 hour.”
