OCR reports – “Round 1 Pro Buggy – Saw Sergio Manalvo – MBX6 back in form after a short break away to take the round win ahead of Tim Nicol – MBX6 and Tony Knauth – Hyper 9, Skip Jackson – MBX6 and Phillip Ciccone – MBX 6, Nicol getting into the 30 second bracket straight up. Short Course Truck – Saw Marc Christianson get straight down to business, putting down some nice 33 second laps to finish a good 10 seconds ahead of Scott Newhouse and Daniel White another 3 seconds back in third, Knauth and Baker filling the Top 5. Round 2 Pro Buggy -Not a good race for Manalvo, clipping the back wall on lap 3 tearing the front end of his MBX6, a fantastic race ensued with Jackson and Nicol getting away early with almost identical Holeshots, Knauth getting on a roll after getting caught up on the start to reel in the leaders, the 3 drivers putting on a great show to finish just over 9 seconds apart on the line with Nicol in front ahead of Jackson and Knauth, Kyle Hodges Hn X2CR and Dean Baker filling the Top 5. Short Course Truck – Had Knauth’s Hong Nor SCRT10 off to a good start with a good Holeshot to run away with it, to finish nearly a lap ahead of Newhouse and Danny White.”

The Hyper Truck control class, growing day by day with new drivers joining in on what is a very competitive, exciting and very affordable class of RC motorsport, the class in a very short period of time has overtaken the Nitro Buggy’s in driver numbers, and getting close in lap times, with a new record set last night of 32.919 secs, the trucks now within 2 seconds of the Nitro’s lap times, it’s pretty easy to see why Short Course Truck racing is spreading like wildfire across the RC world!!! On to the Racing !!!! Round 1 Pro Buggy – See’s Phil Ciccone – MBX6 – Nova Rossi back on the track with a vengeance, taking the Pro Buggy win after a tough battle with Tim Nicol – MBX6 -RB and Tony Knauth – Hyper 9 – RB, Ciccone making a break for it in the late stages to finish 12.71 ahead of Nicol, Knauth a further 3 seconds back in third, Tom Jones – Xray – RB and Steven Peckham – RC8E fourth and fifth. Hyper Truck – Had Dean Baker and Knauth out to an early lead, with Newhouse, Christianson and Wolfe all pushing hard to make up the gap, Baker having issues in the closing stages to finish fourth, Christianson, third, Newhouse second 22.61 secs behind Knauth in first.”

This is the first of 7 rounds in the 2010 OCR Champs Series for the Nitro Buggy classes and the Hyper Truck control class, the Hyper Trucks really gaining momentum with new drivers joining in almost on a daily basis!!! This event also incorporates Rnd #3 of the National Nitro-X Masters Series. On to the Racing ! Round 1 Pro Buggy – saw Knauth Hyper 9 – RB, do a runner on the field early on with Jones Xray – RB close behind, Knauth getting away in the end to put a lap on the field, Jones finishing strong in second ahead of Steven Peckham, RC8E – Mamba third. Hyper Truck – had Dave White, Knauth, Baker, Newhouse and Christianson swapping paint throughout the race, Knauth coming to grief in the closing stages with a motor failure, with Dave White, pushing hard to finish 8.42 seconds ahead of Newhouse and Dean Baker getting the better of Danny White to finish third.”

OCR reports – “Skip Jackson driving an RB powered MBX6 takes out the final round of the series!! After 7 rounds, six months of racing and more than 500 laps, the Series came down to the last couple of heats on the Final night, with six drivers still up for a podium spot!!! Jackson going into the final round as the outright, but it was Sergio Manalvo as the favourite to take it out. Round 1 Pro Buggy – saw Manalvo – MBX6 – OS get straight down to business taking the win 0.95 seconds ahead of Marc Christianson – MBX6 – RB, with Tony Knauth – Hyper 9 – Alpha a further 9.21 seconds down in third. Hyper Truck – Dean Baker took the win 4.05 seconds ahead of Knauth with Scott Newhouse 11.29 sec further back in third Dave White and Danny White rounding out the Top Five”

Round 1 Pro Buggy: The sizeable crowd of spectators saw Manalvo take a 1 lap win over Marc Christianson – MBX 6 – RB and Tim Nicol, with Tom Jones – Xray 808 – RB and Kyle Hodges – X2Cr – RB fourth and fifth. Hyper Truck had Knauth out in front from start to finish, taking the win one lap ahead of Dean Baker and Scott Newhouse.”

“In celebration of his outstanding rookie Supercross season, Team Associated presented Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey with a custom SC10 based upon the popular Rockstar/Makita SC10 Brushless RTR . Team Manager Brent Thielke made the trip to Thunder Valley Motocross Park for the 5th round of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship to present the tricked-out SC10 to the motocross championship point’s leader. Upon receiving the truck, Dungey commented how much he’d always wanted a competition-style remote-control vehicle and appreciated the scale realism of the truck. The SC10 was outfitted with all of Dungey’s main sponsors including Rockstar, Makita, Suzuki, Target, Oakley, Nike, Fox, and Leatt Brace. Given Team Associated’s working partnership with many of Dungey’s sponsors, it was only natural that Team Associated would offer such a gift to such a deserving champion. As Dungey focuses on the summer motocross championship, his SC10 will travel from event to event via a custom-wrapped Target motor coach. “Ashleigh Frensham and Hobao Hyper 9 takes out the 2010 Aussiemove International Nitro Challenge, with NT driver Sergio Manalvo driving an MBX6 in second, Ian Haley – Hotbodies D8 third, Haley having attended all six Nitro Challenges at OCR set what has to be a record, putting himself into a podium position 6 times in a row. Mick Brice from Alice Springs taking the prizemoney for fourth place, Tim Nicol of Darwin picking up the fifth place cheque. David Simms retained the FTD, and no one even got close to Nathan Tampe’s Holeshot Hero time set on the first night!!! WA driver Tom Dexter taking home the first place prizemoney in sport buggy, with fellow WA driver Mike Rimmer in second with local driver Daniel White taking the third place cheque. Read more here.
