Image Gallery

“Just when you think it’s about time for HPI Racing to announce a new 1/10-scale 4WD Blitz or maybe a Full-Size short course racing program… well, HPI likes to do things a little differently. And you better believe there is going to be some FUN involved. It’s in our motto, “Creating Fun Since 1986!” HPI Racing is teaming up with TSA Motorsports to bring racing back to the roots of Off-Road competition – THE DESERT! HPI Racing was busy developing the Mini-Trophy at the same time tha TSA Motorsports was designing and building their full-size desert racing truck. The Mini-Trophy was designed by HPI Racing’s USA-based designer Hidekazu “Ito” Nishine, who has a passion for all things “truck!” Ito is the designer of the Nitro MT Series, the Wheely King/Crawler King Series and the HPI Savage Monster Truck, world famous for its brutal durability. Ito wanted to add a desert truck to his design milestones.

SCALE REALISM -
It’s no secret that scale realism is what everyone wants these days, and HPI Racing delivers this in a package influenced by the relationship with a Full-Size Off-Road desert race team – TSA Motorsports. An interesting note about this particularly “special project” is the fact that TSA used the body styling from HPI Racing and shaped the TSA Full-Size 7200 Class truck to look like the HPI Mini-Trophy Truck. Yes, the HPI Mini-Trophy came first!

HPI DURABILITY -
The HPI MiniTrophy Truck uses nothing but the finest grade, high-impact Nylon plastic on the most critical areas of the truck – from the bumpers to the super beefy arms and everything in between. HPI’s industry known strength and durability makes the MINI-TROPHY friendly for all, and most of all – FUN!

DRIVABILITY -
With a four wheel drive system, driving is made easy. Drivability testing has rendered extremely impressive results. Add more power with a brushless system and the stability and control is still there! The truck simply drives really well in the loose dirt. When traction breaks loose and the rear end of the vehicle is swung out and on-throttle, the truck remains controllable. Bottom line, this 4WD technical feature adds to the overall fun factor.

HISTORY OF FUN –
At HPI Racing, our motto is, “Creating Fun Since 1986.” We keep that passion and driving force at the forefront and when projects like this are developed, we are especially excited with both the R/C vehicle replica and the relationship with the Full-Size race vehicle! HPI’s passion for R/C is a reflection of our enthusiasm for motorsports.”

With an attractive street price of 195$us, the Blitz is based on the robust E-Firestorm platform It has a lot to offer to any short course trucks fans. Is the Blitz for bashers or for racers? This is what I wanted to know as soon as I first saw the Blitz. Guess what? The Blitz has really surprised me… Suspension: The HPI Blitz uses four threaded shock bodies to make suspension adjustments easier and more accurate. White shock springs and 40wt shock fluid are used on four corners. The thick front and rear shock towers and suspension arms have many shock mounting holes to fine tune the suspension. The front shocks are mounted behind the front shock tower. Another nice feature is the captured hinge pins. They make the suspension smoother and reduce maintenance time. Turnbuckles make toe, camber, caster fully adjustable with the included wrench.” Read More…

Erik Shauver: The chassis and concepts were designed by me (Erik Shauver). I also adapted the Maxxis Trepador Comp tires styling to an R/C design with scale performance in mind. The Maxxis truck livery was designed by Andrew Hilman. Scott Roberts and Rodney Wills collaborated with me on the art concepts and executed a lot of the artwork involved in making all the peripheral design elements. Also, John Schultz helped a lot in the initial project stages with tire testing and researching this segment of the market. It was a very fun team to work with!!”

“The best and easiest way to improve your truck handling and look is to swap the stock tires and body for something new. This is exactly what I’ve done with the freshly released JConcepts Goose Bumps tires, Rulux wheels and Illuzion Truth body specially designed for the Team Associated SC10 short course truck. The rollers: First, the Rulux wheels are extremely light. The mounting and gluing processes were an easy task. The tires fit perfectly to the black one-piece Rulux wheels (also available in white) . Like with others SC tires on the market, the inner diameter is 3.0” while the outer diameter is 2.2”. The Goose Bumps tires are compatible with the Team Associated SC10, Traxxas Slash and Slayer, HPI Blitz and Losi Strike short course trucks.” Read More…

“All-new Roof-Mounted Light Bar Set looks just like the roof light sets of current Baja 1000 trucks. It incorporates six of our light canisters. Each of the six canisters is capable of holding a high intensity, 3mm LED (not included) for the ultimate in nighttime off-road racing experiences. What’s best? This light set will fit all current 1/10th and most 1/8th scale “Short Course”-style bodies! That’s right, they will fit the Traxxas Slash, Associated SC10, Losi Strike & HPI Blitz to name just a few. RPM’s light bar set has a very unique mounting system that allows the roof light bar and lights to fold out of the way when a roll-over crash occurs. Additionally, similar to RPM’s Slash light canister set they released in July, the light canisters are set-up for six 3mm LED lights (not included)! That’s 50% more light than our front bumpers alone or 250% more light if using both the light bar and the light canisters on the bumper! Talk about lighting up the night!” Find Out More… [Source - teamgonads.com]
