Hébert and Hönigl Win 09 IIC Indoor Champs

“The International Indoor Championships (IIC) is one of the premier international racing events of the year and unofficially signals the beginning of the indoor carpet racing season. Held once again at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the event was attended by the top international drivers and racing teams seeking a coveted class title. The largest class at this year’s event was the 13.5 Rubber TC class with over 90 entries! Racing against intense competition over four qualifying rounds, Keven Hébert drove his TC5R, powered by a Reedy 5000mAh 7.4V LiPo battery and LRP SPX Stock Spec ESC, to the pole position. His domination continued in the main event with an unchallenged wire-to-wire victory over notable competitors which included former National and World Champions! The debut of 1S (3.7V) LiPo batteries marked the beginning of a new era in 1/12 scale racing. In the premier modified class, Hupo Hönigl came from 4th qualifying position to win the main event in convincing fashion. His CRC Gen-XL with Reedy 4600mAh 3.7V LiPo battery, LRP SXX ESC, and X-12 motor was untouchable which allowed Hupo to win for the second straight year. Equally impressive was the performance of the Reedy 4600mAh 3.76V LiPo battery which powered 7 of 10 drivers in the A-main event.” [Source - rc10.com]
