After much R+D Answer-RC has settled on this HQ foam to offer upmost protection to the engine while allowing a free flow of air. These have been specially developed to offer a higher surface area meaning that there is no build up of dirt and grit during those long mains meaning no uncontrolled engine tuning issues. Using a light coloured foam means you can easily see how much dirt has built up and if it’s time for a replacement. Generally it is considered best practice to oil just the inner foam of the filter meaning loose dirt does not needlessly adhere to the outer of the filter.
