XFactory’s Mike Aliberti TQ’s SC Shootout
It was a great weekend at the first 2012 stop on the Short Course Shootout trail for X Factory, with Mike Aliberti and Chris Cristo showing the new carbon fiber SCX – 60CF truck very well indeed. RC Excitement in Fitchburg, Mass was the venue for a good weekend of close SC racing on March 16-18 with a tight indoor track that tested driving skills to the max.
Fresh from his “lights out” win at last month’s SnowBall race, Aliberti TQed stock 2WD SC with a time that would have put him 9th in mod while Cristo was 4th on the grid. A first-lap mishap on the difficult quad jump put Mike back to second in the main, and he finished there, just a second or two behind the winner. Cristo kept his 4th place.
In 2 WD Mod SC, Aliberti qualified 5th and worked his way up to 3rd with the new SCX – 60CF. Mike said, “My carbon fiber truck was the talk of the event – we are gonna sell a bunch of them. It was amazing getting on and off the straight. I’m so glad it was dialed in front of my home crowd.”
