“Olly Jefferies takes TQ and the A final win at round three of this years BRCA national series.Round 3 of this seasons BRCA 1:12 national championship saw another strong showing by the Associated team with Olly Jefferies taking the win and TQ on Saturday in the Spec class. Olly followed this up with another TQ on Sunday but after a first lap mistake could only manage 2nd place in Modified on Sunday.
After setting TQ at the first two nationals in the Spec class Olly had failed to convert his TQ’s in to a wins. A third at Ardent and second at Hereford and it was starting to look like Olly was jinxed! At last weekends national at Tamworth Olly managed to convert his third TQ in to a win ahead of Andy Griffiths and in doing so put himself right in contention for Spec class championship.
On Sunday under the watchful eye of Associated supremo Craig Drescher once again Olly was the man to catch in Modified qualifying, his 12R5.1 took another TQ ahead of Andy Griffiths, Olly has now taken TQ at every round of this years BRCA series in both the Spec and Modified classes.
The modified final got off to a bad start for Olly as on the very first corner he made an error clipping the track marker and dropping to the back of the field, by the time Olly had hauled his way back in to contention Andy Griffiths was long gone and Olly had to settle for second.”
“I was annoyed for making the mistake as in reflection it was an unforced error, but Griff had driven well all weekend and with him taking second on Saturday it felt like honours even over the weekend. Championship wise, it’s still looking good for me and the 12R5.1 is working very well. I still need to keep pushing and I am looking to work on some set up changes at Ardent Raceway this weekend.” said Olly Jefferies.
