ATS 2012 – Ronald Völker also big in Japan

Different location, same result. Ronald Völker also wins the debut event of the Asian Touring Series. His LRP powered Yokomo car proved to be unbeatable. LRP team driver Ronald Völker gave an impressing proof of his top shape now also in Japan. At the Yatabe Arena, he outperformed the elite of Japanese TC racing and many of his competitors known from the European TouringCar Series. Ronald showed an outstanding performance already in qualifying. The LRP high-competition package consisting of LRP SXX TC spec version 2, LRP Vector X12 5.0T Octa-Wind and LRP LiPo Competition Car Line Hardcase 6200 in his Yokomo car powered Ronald to incredible lap times. 5 rounds of qualifying – 5 victories; Ronald couldn’t be much more dominating.

Behind TQ Ronald, there were LRP team drivers Juho Levanen and Alexander Hagberg on second and third. Japanese top driver Naoto Matsukura qualified fourth. The first A-main saw a close duel between Ronald and Juho. Finland’s TC ace continuously attacked. Consequently, Ronald’s lead melted to only 15/100 of a second for several times. In the end, Ronald was able to take a tight victory relying on all his abilities and experience. Young Japanese driver Akito Sobue finished third. Instead of new tyres, Ronald used the set from qualifying for the second A-main. This set of tyres brought all the enormous performance of the LRP power package perfectly onto the track. Ronald kept the lead and controlled the race without making any mistake. He could celebrate a start-to-finish victory – with more than one second ahead of his toughest competitor Juho Levanen. Naoto Matsukura conquered the third place on the podium.

By winning A-main 1 and 2, LRP team driver Ronald Völker was early crowned the first ever ATS Champion 2011. In the third A-main, the other drivers had the chance to collect points for the final standings. In the end, it was also a LRP driver who proved to be the best of the rest: Juho Levanen won ahead of Aiko Sobue and (also LRP powered) Alexander Hagberg. The overall result showed that the reigning ETS Champion from Germany is not only able to dominate and win highly competitive races in Europe. At the first ATS race event in Japan, the LRP/Yokomo package was also dominating. The reliability and performance of LRP SXX TC spec version 2 and LRP Vector X12 Octa-Wind combined with the LRP LiPo 6200 battery were once again THE winning factor. Congratulations!
