LRP driver Martin Bayer dominated the Astra Nitro Cross by a clean TQ and win in both the Nitro Buggy and Electric Buggy classes. The Astra Nitro Cross is a highly prestigious 1/8 offroad buggy event in the Czech Republic with many of the national and international top drivers attending. It is held on the beautiful and very challenging track of the ARC Slavkov club in the city of Slavkov u Brna. Doug “Casper” Nielsen recently attended the Exeter Hobbies 2013 Summer Nationals which was a race put on by the Cutler-Orosi Youth Program sending proceeds to a good cause. Racers attended from all over the central California valley to support the event, a good turnout with 10 heats of racing made for a relaxed fun day of racing. The final race of the day, the grand finale – the big finish – different names but Adam Drake can now call himself a worthy three-time ROAR National Buggy Champion – a feat no other driver has managed in 1/8 offroad. Marc Rheinard has won the penultimate round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series ahead of Ronald Volker meaning that the two great rivals will battle it out for the overall title at the season finale at the Hudy Arena in Slovakia next month. After the chaos of Leg 2, the closing race in Traiskirchen was a much calmer affair with Top Qualifier Rheinard seeing off the close attention of Yokomo drivers Yannic Prumper and Volker to take the leg and the overall win which he needed to keep his title hopes alive. www.ets.redrc.net
